Extrusion
Extrusion is the most common manufacturing method for consistent cross-section parts. Enertron can manufacture a heat sink fin height to fin pitch ratio of up to 10:1. The minimum heat sink fin thickness is typically 1mm. Aluminum 6063-T5 is typically used as the extrusion material for heat sink manufacturing, but copper is commonly used as well.
Extruded heat sinks can be used in either a natural or forced convection environment. These heat sinks can be an ideal thermal solution for workstation CPUs, high performance power supplies and converters, and high-end amplifiers.
